UNITED’S # HT-1537 ALLOY is designed for 9K-14K & 19K – 23 K yellow gold casting& fabrication, which produces a Reddish-Yellow color. This alloy is not recommended for 18 karat usage.

MELTING We do recommend pre-alloying all alloy and fine gold with aggressive stirring & fluxing to assure a uniform mixture.

Step : 1 Pre- Alloying (Fine gold + alloy) Temperature 1050° - 1100° C

1922° - 2012° F

Step : 2 Casting Temperature for 9K-14K Alloyed Grain 971° - 990° C

1780° - 1815° F

Casting Temperature for 19K-23K Alloyed Grain 1100° - 1120° C

2012° - 2048° F

FLASK TEMPERATURE For Vacuum casting 676° - 730° C

Use higher range for 19K-23K 1250° - 1350° F

For Centrifugal casting 565° - 730° C

Use higher range for 19K-23K 1050° - 1350° F

United # HT-1537 alloy is formulated for 9K – 14K & 19K to 22 K sheet, plate & wire fabrication giving a DARK Yellow color. Alloy # HT-1537 can be used for casting also. This Alloy is not recommended for 18 Karat.

MELTING The # HT-1537 DARK Yellow Alloy and fine gold should be melted together in a clean crucible. Put alloy in the bottom of the crucible and fine gold on top. Initial melting temperature should be 950º C - 980º C for 9K – 14K or

1100º - 1120º C for 19K – 22K. Drop temperature somewhat before pouring as listed below. Boric acid flux may be used to keep the metal clean during the melting process. The metal should be mixed well with a stirring rod before pouring to assure a good mix.

POURING TEMP 9K - 14 K - 950º C - 980º C (1742º F- 1796º F)

19 K – 22K - 1100º - 1110º C (2012º F - 2030º F)
